Green Tags Order Form

Green Tags are a tax-deductible way to pay for clean air, a healthy environment and energy independence. Each Green Tag is based on 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity generated by wind and solar facilities in the Western United States.

When you order Green Tags, you will receive:

a letter acknowledging your tax-deductible contribution,
MeIPL's quarterly newsletter, and
a notice in 2005 describing which facilities generated the electricity for your Green Tags.

If you use 6,000 kWh of electricity per year (about average for a Maine household):
100% Annual Electricity Emissions Offset	= 6 Green Tags	= $120
50% Annual Electricity Emissions Offset	= 3 Green Tags	= $60
25% Annual Electricity Emissions Offset	= 2 Green Tags	= $40

Your purchase is a tax-deductible charitable contribution. MeIPL will buy the number of Green Tags that you designate and retire the underlying tradable renewable energy certificates. You will receive both an acknowledgement of your contribution and a notice confirming that your Green Tags have been retired.
