| Short history |
Launched in 1997, Sun Power Electric (SPE) is a division of
Conservation Service Group (CSG), a not-for-profit energy
conservation organization. SPE describes itself
as the first all-photovoltaic utility. Working with partners such as
BJ's Wholesale Clubs, Ikea Stores, and others, SPE installs new
photovoltaic systems on partners' rooftops and markets energy
certificates representing the power generated by those systems. |

| Emissions rates |
"ReGen" certificates represent zero-emission solar electricity
combined with landfill gas. In addition, by virtue of their grid location,
SPE’s "ReGen" tags help offset CO2 and other emissions
upwind of Maine. |
| Other benefits |
In addition to public health benefits from zero-emission
solar, landfill gas generators also make use of methane, a
global warming gas that is over 20 times more powerful than CO2.
Using LFG for electricity avoids either flaring the gas or
leaving it to escape without capture, thus providing a
significant benefit to the reduction of global warming. |

"ReGen" tags are available in blocks of 2,000 kWh at a
cost of $72.00 per block. This amounts to $6/month and
represents about 20% of the electricity that would be used
annually by an average US home. |

Credit card purchases are possible. Long-term agreements with monthly billing options
are welcome. |
| Notable contract terms |
For multi-year sales, a contract is required. Ask about tax
